Use the active voice. Do not even think about using passive voice on your business 2 way radios as this can make your messages longer and sound weaker. Active voice can compel your readers to take action and can easily capture their attention.

Also, since most business calls tend to become personal in nature, try using faxes and memos instead for your communications in business. Putting things down in paper and ink gets right to the point and saves you time. You can also try setting a timer for 5 minutes or so during your calls, and when it goes off, just be sure to wrap things up.

Phone Greeting. You do not need to answer your telephone each time it rings. Your telephone can be a great asset to your team. Set your voice message so it announces your business name and hours of operation. This will let callers know when you are in the office. Do not let family or friends answer your business comms with a "Hi" or "What's up".

Having a graphic design degree is a great accomplishment and many employers will weigh more heavily on the fact that you have a certificate compared to someone else. You still need a strong portfolio but having a graphic design degree communication technology under your belt will be impressive.
