Now let's talk about drinks. I love these really good drink they make with a cherry on top and a sword stuck into it. These drinks are really good, and made with real fruit. They come in pineapple, strawberry, and orange flavors. They are kind of expensive though. They cost about $3.99 but they are of a big size and taste great. Those are the high light a specialty of their drinks. They of course have soda, beer, and liquor at the Elephant Bar. One drink I recommend getting is a Black Widow, it's alcoholic and very strong.
With crockpot dinners the same applies. You should not take the lid off a crockpot unless you have to. This is because when you take off the lid, you let steam escape and the temperature in the crockpot plummets. It also means you have to add on about an extra half an hour of cooking time. So season the food once, rather than tasting it often.
There will be six individual categories that your team can enter including beef brisket, chicken, crock pot ribs, pork shoulder/Boston butt, side dishes, and desserts. It is $40 to enter each of these categories, or $150 if you want to enter all six categories. If you want to enter the chili competition in addition to, or instead of the BBQ competition, then the entry price is $15.00 for this category. Each entrant is given a standard booth that is 20 feet by 20 feet. If you will need more space or electricity you will need to submit the following fees: for a 20 foot by 30 foot space the fee is $15.00, if you want a 20 foot by 40 foot space than the extra fee is $25.00, and if you need an electrical hookup the fee will be $25.00.
When it comes to pork butt which is really part of a pork shoulder some pit masters inject a solution of apple juice and apple cider vinegar to impart both flavor and moistness to the meat.
Think! If you know that you are going to a garden party on Sunday afternoon, then avoid a full Irish breakfast on Sunday morning. Sticking to your food plan until the party will be worth it because you will be able to socialise and get stuck into those bbq ribs just like everyone else. So, it'll feel good.
Do not add any sort of cruciferous vegetables, such as cauliflower, broccoli or any type of cabbage to this dish. Cooking these vegetables for the long period of time that the dish requires will overcook slow cooker pork ribs them and they will start smelling like sulfur which most people don't like.
The last hour of cooking is a good time to baste with your favorite sauce. This time is meant to enhance the flavor and caramelize a good sauce. Be careful to monitor closely though with sauces high in sugar because they can easily burn. During the cooking process many cooks will use liquids to enhance the flavor and tenderness. Liquids like apple juice, butter, honey, molasses or even alcohol. An interesting combination is to mix half bourbon and half apple juice and use a spray bottle to mist on the boneless pork ribs during the last hour.
Any delicate vegetable like asparagus or peas will also be wasted on this dish; they will go gray and tasteless by the time you take it out of the oven or turn off the heat for serving.
